Service Description

Together we can create a movement to strengthen financial acumen in parks and recreation - one person and one agency at a time. This eye-opening and engaging experience will be one you won’t forget. This program is designed to enhance and accelerate career growth for park and recreation professionals. This intensive program will address complex issues including the pressing need to practice financial discipline and acknowledge the responsibility park and recreation professionals have as stewards of taxpayer dollars. Topics covered include: - Review of economic principles and accounting practices - Discussion of current economic, social, and environmental conditions and realities - Pricing strategies and considerations - Tools and methodology for designing an effective financial sustainability strategy - Conflict between ethics and investment - Case study review and analysis All content has been developed by 110% Inc. and offered in small bites via many professional development programs at state, regional, national, and international conferences, and schools. Content elements have also been used as part of the Financial Management course in Indiana University’s School of Public Health for master’s level students in the Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Studies Program. Approximately 15 hours of course content will be provided to participating professionals affording them the opportunity to acquire 1.5 continuing education units (CEUs).
